Every player and staff member in the organization is vaccinated against the coronavirus, except AHL forward Joel L’Esperance.on Sunday to help teams deal with COVID-19 and avoid further postponements.

The league and players’ association brought back the taxi squad — a group of six players that travel and practice with the NHL team but are not technically on the NHL roster — to ease the availability of players. The taxi squad will be intact until the All-Star break. Robertson, Jacob Peterson and Jake Oettinger are ineligible to be put on the taxi squad. Robertson and Peterson were on the NHL roster on Dec. 22, are waivers exempt and have spent more than 75% of the season in the NHL. Oettinger was on the NHL roster on Dec. 22, is waivers exempt and has dressed in more than 16 of the team’s last 20 games.

Every Stars player currently in the AHL has a cap hit of $1 million or less, except for Anton Khudobin. The Stars could have used those roster exemptions to build a roster, but cases on their AHL roster prevented them from doing so.
