The Dallas Museum of Art has a bold new plan to transform its structure and a chosen architect for the job. Good Day got more details from the DMA's Eugene McDermott Director Dr. Agustin Arteaga.Starting December 1, the museum will only be open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The layoffs include 20 full-time positions and making two full-time positions into part-time positions. The positions account for 8 percent of the museum's staff. A statement from the DMA calls the changes "difficult, but necessary steps" in order to "move towards a sustainable future.""We are confident that our operations are now in alignment with achievable revenue goals," the DMA said in a statement.
