The Dallas Museum of Art did not open at its scheduled time Sunday while police investigated a threat made against the building, a museum spokesperson said.
Dallas police call logs showed four units were dispatched to the museum before 9 a.m. Sunday, but those units were no longer responding to the call as of noon. Dallas police did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
DMA spokeswoman Aschelle Morgan said in an email the museum received a threat, and the building and garage would be closed “until we can be certain our patrons, staff and community are safe.” Morgan did not specify the nature of the threat. The museum typically opens at 11 a.m. on Sundays; it’s unclear whether it would delay its opening or remain closed for the rest of the day.
