North Texas continues to attract young professionals, adding to the workforce that continues to draw more companies to the region.

Millennials are leaving cities like Los Angeles, New York and Chicago for more affordable cities like Dallas, Austin and Jacksonville, Fla.Millennials are leaving New York and Chicago and flocking to the South, with Dallas and Austin at the top of their lists.used U.S Census Bureau data to track trends in the movement of millennials, defined as those between the ages of 25 and 39.

Out of 152 cities considered, Dallas ranked third for where millennials are moving, with a net migration of 6,339 millennials. Of the top 10 cities millennials left, three were in California: Los Angeles, San Francisco and Fresno.
