Dallas getting 'a workhorse' in Texas LB DeMarvion Overshown

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has long had his eye on DeMarvion Overshown. And last week, Jones and his brain trust picked the Texas linebacker in the third round of the NFL draft.

That was all fine and well. But no one’s ever known Jones to covet a prospect because he was a saint. And so is Overshown, who loosed a cathartic “wooooo” as soon as he picked up his phone last Friday night and heard Jones’ syrupy drawl on the other end. Turned out roving around in the secondary wasn’t Overshown’s football destiny. After spending two seasons adrift, he was reborn as a rangy linebacker who could both play off the edge and defend in space.
