Despite earlier forecasts predicting up to 5 inches of snow, the Dallas-Fort Worth area experienced minimal snowfall, with only traces reported in northern cities. Sunny skies and temperatures in the 50s are expected to bring a thaw to the region.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area largely avoided a significant snowfall, with only minimal traces reported in northern cities, according to the National Weather Service. Earlier this week, the weather service predicted up to 5 inches of snow for the region. However, the actual snowfall amounts were significantly lower. Sunny skies and temperatures in the 50s are expected to bring a thaw to the area starting Wednesday, as per weather forecasts.

A high near 50 degrees on Wednesday will drop to an overnight low of 29 degrees. However, the cold weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service Fort Worth earlier this week will be lifted at 9 a.m. Thursday is anticipated to bring more sunshine with temperatures reaching 50 degrees again, followed by an overnight low of 27 degrees. Mostly clear conditions and calm winds are expected. Friday is expected to follow a similar pattern, with a high of 56 degrees and an overnight low of 34 degrees, before rain chances increase on Saturday. While every day after Saturday has a chance of rain, no single day is predicted to be a complete washout, according to the weather service. Cities north of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including Greenville, Paris, Sherman, Bowie, Graham, and Cisco to the west, recorded only a trace of snow, according to preliminary snowfall totals from the weather service.
