a $25,000 settlement to end a lawsuit in which a man accused a sheriff’s deputy of violating his privacy by livestreaming a March 2021 traffic stop.
Earlier this year, Torry Osby, a Tarrant County resident, sued Dallas County and Deputy Francisco Castillo. In the lawsuit, Osby said Castillo livestreamed — without his consent —Osby was let go with a warning, but he later learned that his information was streamed to more than 100 people after someone who watched Castillo’s TikTok and saw Osby’s driver’s license information contacted him, the lawsuit alleged.Osby’s lawyers had said their client did not consent to the livestreaming of the stop.
