City employees were working in the building at 7800 N. Stemmons Freeway from December to April despite fire code violations and no certificate of occupancy.
Al-Ghafry said the city’s goal is to move workers back in once all the work is finished, but it’s not clear when that will be. He said in the email that the city would “conduct a comprehensive assessment of required facility updates required along with available and potential funding gaps for the immediate needs.”to all development services workers, employees were told the majority of the building was off limits.
The temporary certificate issued for the fifth floor says it was subject to the approval of field inspectors and the fire department. It isn’t clear from the records how long the certificate is supposed to last.
