The major McDonald’s franchise owner and local philanthropist is the recipient of the annual honor for community involvement.

During the nomination selection meeting, Matrice Ellis-Kirk, a former Linz Award recipient, said the lives of young people that Parrish has impacted are extraordinary. Past honorees also include Frank Risch, Margot Perot, Tom Luce, Deedie Rose, Ebby Halliday, Caren Prothro, Raymond Nasher and Dolores Gomez Barzune.
“You got to go and give to the community,” Parrish said. “It’s embracing what my role is as a successful businessman in this community.”Football coaches from Dallas-area schools were recognized for their state championship wins at the Roland Parrish Battle of the Bands at Globe Life Field in Arlington on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023.
