CVS Health operates nearly 10,000 retail locations complete with pharmacies and MinuteClinics. The chain’s MinuteClinics recorded 50 million patient visits last year.Dallas-based Signify Health is being sold to CVS Health Corp. in a deal valued at $8 billion as the drugstore chain expands beyond its retail origins.
Founded in 2017, Signify Health built a nationwide network of more than 10,000 clinicians – physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants – who use home-based visits to identify patients’ clinical and social needs and connect them to follow-up care and community resources. Through technology and services, Signify Health works with health insurers, government programs and employers to create value-based payment plans. It leverages an online platform, analytics and its network of independently contracted providers around the country to shift health care away from acute care facilities and into patients’ homes.acquired Caravan Health
Signify Health said those accountable care organizations generated more than $138 million in gross savings in 2021. By next year, Caravan expects to serve over 700,000 people covered by those organizations.
