The next rental community it has in the works will be located north of State Highway 121 in McKinney. The Aura McKinney apartments will have 320 units in 12, 3-story buildings, according to planning documents filed with the state. Construction is set to begin on the more than $44 million project this spring with an opening in 2024 on Stacy Road.Dallas-Fort Worth is the country’s biggest apartment building market with more than 40,000 new rental units on the way.And in 2021 landlords were able to raise average rents in the area by more than 17%, according to data from RealPage.
