Three shepherd mixes attacked the baby Monday at a home in Duncanville, Texas, police said.
A Dallas 1-year-old died after he was mauled by three dogs while with a babysitter, police said Monday. Around 10:40 a.m. Monday, Duncanville police responded to a home in the 1500 block of Lime Leaf Lane for a report of a child attacked by a dog, according to a release from police. First responders began lifesaving measures on the unidentified 1-year-old, and he was transferred to a nearby hospital, but soon after arriving he was declared dead.
The adult resident at the home attempted to pull the dogs off the child but was unsuccessful and suffered injuries of her own. She has not been identified, and police declined to detail the relationship between her and the victim while the investigation continues. Police say there is potential for criminal charges in the case once the investigation is complete, and they are looking into whether the home was operating as a daycare.
