Daimler profit crash gives new CEO cost-cut fuel LiamWardProud
Daimler on June 23 said EBIT in 2019 would be roughly the same as last year, compared with its previous expectation of a slight increase.
The revision is related to an expected increase in expenses linked to"various ongoing governmental proceedings and measures" with regard to Mercedes-Benz diesel vehicles, the company said. It also expects Mercedes-Benz Vans’ operating margin this year to be between minus-2% and minus-4%. That unit’s margin last year was 2.3%, and it accounted for about 3% of group EBIT.
