Birmingham’s Ella Ludden is the Daily News girls athlete of the week.
Ludden threw a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and walked three batters in last week’s 2-0 win over Eagle Rock in the program’s first City Open Division playoff victory. The victory put the Patriots in the semifinals against Carson Tuesday afternoon.
Ludden is 9-2 from the pitching circle this year with an ERA of 0.43 anchored by 157 strikeouts in 82 inning of work. NO HITTER: Birmingham’s Ella Ludden delivers the Patriots a 2-0 win over Eagle Rock in the City Open playoffs.
