, respectively — create a good atmosphere for thoughtful conversations today. Particularly, later in the evening you can say what’s on your mind and trust that others will receive it in the spirit you intended.
Sometimes, every interaction feels like a bit of a minefield, where you’re constantly at risk of saying the wrong thing and embarrassing yourself or hurting someone else. Today, though, you don’t need to worry so much. When the people in your life fail to give you the love and support you want, it’s easy to assume they just don’t want to: If they really cared, they would show up for you; it’s not as though your needs are particularly complicated.
Today, though, remember that just because your desires seem obvious to, that doesn’t mean they’re obvious to everyone. There’s a possibility that your friends are genuinely trying; they’re just getting it wrong. If you take this chance to communicate what you want, that may be enough to solve the problem. Today you’ll be able to show up in virtually any social situation and make a good impression.
Even if you’re among strangers, you can feel at ease and enjoy yourself. Even if you’re around people you would usually find intimidating, you’ll remember you have plenty to offer too. The key is to remember the people around you aren’t your competitors or your adversaries; they’re just people too. And if you can approach them with that in mind, you’ll find it’s simple to connect.
You sometimes get the feeling that you need to share all your thoughts and emotions with the people around you, that it would be unfair, even dishonest, to hold anything back. But today remember you’re not actually obligated to be such an open book.
If you’re still not sure how you feel about something, you don’t need to state an opinion until you’ve had time to think; if you’re worried your ideas are a bit half-baked, you can keep them to yourself until you’ve developed them a bit more. YouIt’s not your job to manage everyone else’s emotions, and if the people around you aren’t getting along with one another, you aren’t obligated to step in and play peacemaker.
Sometimes, you get sick of dealing with everyone else’s immature squabbles; you want them to sort things out themselves. Today, though, you’ll be exceptionally good at bringing people together and helping them find common ground. The more people can work together, the more everyone — including you — will benefit. Sometimes, it seems wisest to give up on the possibility of persuading others to take your side.
You know that people can be incredibly stubborn and resistant to changing their mind, and you worry it’s not worth the effort of making your case. Today, though, you stand a better than usual chance of convincing people to see things your way. The key is to pay attention to what they actually Some people seem always to be sharing their grand, overarching ideas about life and the universe — and you occasionally find it a bit irritating.
You want them to give you facts and data, at least a specific example or two, rather than just abstract theories that seem disconnected from reality. Today, though, you may find it’s surprisingly fun to join in and let your mind run wild. For now, don’t worry so much about getting all the details right; this is a time to let your imagination take the reins. Sometimes, you feel you can’t ask others the questions you’re really interested in.
You worry it would be pushy and impolite to ask directly about subjects that may be sensitive; it seems safer to wait for the other person to volunteer whatever information they’re comfortable sharing. Today, though, you’re better off going ahead and asking straight out. That doesn’t mean you should push people to open up, but chances are, they’ll be glad you created space for them to share what’s on their mind.
You sometimes worry you can be a bit of a downer; you’re always pointing out the contradictions others want to breeze past, always insisting on dealing with the problems your friends seem to hope will go away on their own. It’s not that youto be severe, but someone has to do it. Today, though, give yourself permission to just enjoy your social interactions.
It’s not your responsibility to always call others on their inconsistencies and bad ideas — for now, give them your support, but let them make their own mistakes. You can feel a lot of pressure to keep discussions lively, filling any awkward pauses to make sure nobody gets bored or uncomfortable. You worry that if the conversation lags, people will think you’re dull to be around.
But today, try not to talk just for the sake of talking: You don’t need to speak up unless you truly have something to say. There’s nothing wrong with a quiet moment or two; if anything, people might appreciate a slightly slower pace of conversation, with more time for everyone to collect their thoughts and express themselves with intention. This is an excellent day for brainstorming.
If you let your mind roam freely, you could come up with all kinds of unexpected solutions to the problems that have been vexing you lately. The key, at this point, is not to worry too much about which ideas are actually “good. ” The more you pay attention to your inner critic, the harder it’ll be to think creatively. Now isn’t the time to evaluate your ideas critically; there will be time later to sift through them later.
You can get annoyed by how much energy it takes to manage everyone else’s emotions, especially when there’s real work to be done. You’d much prefer to focus on the issue at hand without distractions, rather than needing to navigate the moods and idiosyncrasies of the people around you. Today, though, don’t underestimate how valuable it can be to make a point of setting people at ease and making them feel heard.
This isn’t wasted effort — it’s all part of the process, so instead of trying to avoid it, do the best you can to make others comfortable. Others sometimes try to convince you that your concerns are trivial, and that if you’re unhappy with what’s going on around you, it must simply be because you’re being fussy. Occasionally, they even manage to make you doubt yourself. Today, though, don’t let anyone persuade you that you’re overreacting.
Just because an issue doesn’t matter to, that doesn’t mean it isn’t important. People aren’t required to treat all of your whims like a top priority, but they don’t get to tell you that you’re wrong to care, either.
