Readers support Dade Phelan; hope for peace in Israel; call out Hamas as a terrorist group; are disppointed to see so much pro-voucher spending; and are against the death penalty.I am a registered Republican and constantly get texts from groups wanting me to support far-right group efforts like “Dump Dade” and “Support Paxton.” The latest asked me to contact my representative to ask her to vote to remove the speaker. I did contact her. I asked her to support the speaker, instead.
As citizens of Texas we have to ask: Why are out-of-state billionaires using money to influence what happens in Texas public education? Are our elected officials accountable to their constituents, or to their high-dollar donors? Moving taxpayer money to private schools that will not have to accept every student or adhere to STAAR testing standards, seems like present-day segregation to me.Texans cannot let out-of-state billionaires influence or determine how Texas will educate our children. Contact your state representatives today and tell them to vote no on vouchers.Re: “’Take me home.
