Jordan Harris' girlfriend lied to hospital staff to protect her partner
A dad who broke his son's ribs told his girlfriend 'nah he'll be OK' when she asked him to take their baby to hospital. Jordan Harris, 23, inflicted the injuries on at least two separate occasions, however did not tell the court why it happened. His partner Courtney Hegarty, 21, lied to hospital staff to protect her partner, claiming the baby had fallen out of a pram.
Carl Templar-Vasey, defending Harris, stated the young couple's living arrangements in their Chelmsley Wood flat with their children 'would be considerably stressful for the most experienced of parents', adding that Harris was 'ill-equipped' for the level of 'responsibility and stress' he had. Explaining why Harris had not admitted exactly what he did the barrister said: 'After the expert report he became quite upset and admitted he was at fault.
