The Northumberland County shooting occurred after police responded to a 911 hang-up call.

SUNBURY – State troopers were justified in fatally shooting a Northumberland County man outside his home in 2021, the district attorney has ruled.

Troopers had responded on June 11, 2021, to a 911 hang-up call at Kradlak’s residence in Delaware Twp. between Watsontown and McEwensville.he raised a handgun and fired it toward troopers with the round hitting the windshield wiper on a cruiser. They returned fire, killing him. No troopers were injured.

The pistol jammed eight times while he was participating in a Fraternal Order of Police shooting competition a few weeks before he shot himself, he said. Kradlak went on vacation after being discharged from the hospital and said he was surprised upon his return to find a termination letter from Feese.
