The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Tshwane is calling for its national leadership to reconsider its participation in the Government of National Unity (GNU) following the removal of their mayor. They cite recent actions by the African National Congress (ANC) as evidence that the party they made an agreement with at a national level has changed.

JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance in Tshwane said that its national leadership should"reflect" on its continued participation in the Government of National Unity .Moya replaced DA councillor, Cilliers Brink, who held the mayorship for 18 months before being removed through an African National Congress -sponsored motion of no confidence.

"I think, as a party, we are also going to have to reflect on our place in the GNU. The past few months in the GNU, we have seen the ANC remove two DA mayors in the Western Cape and now in the capital city. It seems that the ANC we made an agreement with at national level is no longer the ANC that's in control and calling the shots."
