Although we’ve corrected some of the worst of the summer’s dryness lately, annual precipitation totals are still 7 inches below average in Washington and more than 8 inches below average at Dulles. Sure, the timing is bad, but indeed we can still use the rain. It could be that we miss out on the heaviest rain in the region today. Even so, it’ll be gray and damp much of the time. A good one for indoor plans.Some showers are into the area during the morning.
75 inches should do it many spots when it’s over, but maybe a bit less to the southwest. Some drizzle could linger through sunrise or so. Lows are in the upper 40s or lower 50s. Confidence: Medium-HighIf there’s any lingering sprinkles, they are out of here pretty quick. Clouds are slower to depart, but some sun breaks through with time. Add in a gusty wind from the northwest and highs in a near 60 to low 60s range feel cooler than that. Those gusts are upwards of 30 mph at times.
