Temperatures could come close to record highs in the upper 90s to near 100.
Should be slightly less hot and humid than yesterday. Still quite warm with highs near or just past 90, but pretty standard June stuff compared to the brutal heat to come.While warmer than average for mid-June, today and tomorrow feature relatively standard heat for summer in the DMV. A more potent and dangerous heat arrives Friday and kicks into even higher gear this weekend as highs climb well into the 90s to perhaps near 100 in spots, and the heat index reaches at least near 105.
While this weekend may end up the hottest days of this heat wave, it looks like highs will continue well into the 90s through much of next week.
