D.C.-area forecast: Dodging showers and storms through tomorrow, drier Friday and Saturday

Some spots could see a pretty a good downpour later today or this evening.

Showery and stormy at times during the afternoon into evening. At least we seem to be shifting the rain timing more so to midweeks than weekends.Warm and muggy is the rule today and tomorrow with occasional showers and thunderstorms. Those storms could dump heavy rain at times, perhaps producing isolated areas of flooding. Much drier air moves in for Friday and Saturday, dramatically reducing rain chances, which could start rising again Sunday.

The air has a midsummer-like muggy feel with lows only dipping to the upper 60s and low 70s. Confidence: MediumScattered showers and storms should continue as a cold front slowly moves through.
