Actress Cynthia Erivo shared details about her extensive transformation process into the iconic character Elphaba from 'Wicked,' including hours of makeup application and even buzzing her head to make things easier.

As expected, the green makeup would take several hours to complete, and to help out the hair and makeup team, Erivo took the initiative to buzz her hair to make the entire process even easier.
The painting process even extended to Erivo's scalp, too, with the actress noting that she took it upon herself to shave her head before production so they could paint her scalp as well. Erivo was kind enough to give a visual aid of what a bald Elphaba would look like, recalling that she was a “green-scalp Cynthia...like a little bald-headed green lady” while she was in the process of transforming.
