Warning: contains spoilers for The Avengers #12As the X-Men leave their Krakoan Age behind them and begin to rebuild in their upcoming From The Ashes era, the iconic Cyclops will lead a team of mutant heroes from an Alaskan base of operations that is the perfect insult to the X-Men's longtime enemy Orchis.
Close The Avengers #12, from writer Jed MacKay with artists Francesco Mortarino and Federico Blee, sees Iron Man leading an attack on Orchis operations with his Avengers colleagues, where they are shown wrecking a Sentinel Factory in Merle, Alaska, that looks identical to an X-Men base revealed in the From the Ashes promo trailer.
The state of Alaska is particularly important to the hero Cyclops, who was born in Alaska and has returned there on several occasions when he has gone through periods of "retirement" from the X-Men. Scott Summers lived in Alaska with his wife Madelyne Pryor and their child Nathan, returned there with his wife Jean Grey, and has grandparents who live there that he remains close with.
