Faulkner, 31, initially wasn’t expected to compete in the women’s road cycling race at the 2024 Paris Olympics. As NBC Olympics reported on July 9, the cyclist found out less than a month before the Summer Games were set to begin that she would participate in the event despite failing to qualify.
