Cypress Woods senior Dylan Rogers smiles after signing his letter of intent to play college football at the University of Nebraska during the early signing period.Cypress Woods’ Terrance Green and Dylan Rogers became varsity teammates as sophomores and have grown close ever since. Coming into their senior season, the pair told one another how they needed to step up to help the team win games.
Green and Rogers joined 23 other student-athletes Wednesday afternoon at the campus auditorium for a National Signing Day ceremony among family, friends, teammates and coaches. Rogers remembers sitting at the auditorium as a freshman, watching the older students sign their letters, and thinking to himself how he wanted to be in that position as a senior. He logged 83 tackles, 8½ tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, two passes deflected, one fumble recovery and a forced fumble this season.
“I didn’t agree with that,” Rogers said. “He was a dog. I was watching him because some games we’ll sit, and watch B-team play before we played."
