BRECKSVILLE, Ohio — The National Park Service says it’s planning three “prescribed” fires over the next several weeks in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
The Park Service says fires are used to burn invasive plant species, create good soil conditions for native seeds and maintain habitats.The second fire will cover about 129 acres of Terra Vista Natural Study Area in Valley View, while the third is a 13-acre area in Boston Township off Boston Mills Road, just south of Interstate 80. No specific dates were provided for those burns, but they will occur sometime before the end of the year.
