Cuyahoga County Council has decided to let several pieces of legislation expire ahead of 2025, when three new members will join the body. This year, the council considered legislation to clarify oversight of the sheriff, provide raises or bonuses to employees, and strengthen protections for renters facing eviction, but none of these measures reached a final vote.
Now, these proposals are among 16 pieces of legislation, some dating back to 2020, that the council has officially removed from consideration. The council recently voted to allow the proposed resolutions to expire due to inactivity, effectively starting fresh for 2025
