OMG. This is too cute!

They include four red dholes and two orang utan, that were born between December last year and February this year.

Taiping Municipal Council president Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir said the dholes were discovered by caretakers on Dec 31 during a routine inspection.“They have given birth to a total of six pups and we now have 15 of these animals at the zoo, ” he said in a statement.“The first one’s mother is nine-year-old Katarina while 18-year-old Wasabi gave birth to the second baby orang utan.

“The father of both babies is Veera, who came from Singapore Zoo through a breeding loan programme, ” he said, adding that there were now a total of six orang utan at the zoo.He said entry forms can be obtained at https://forms.gle/JLcJTWQ875gXHL998Khairul Amir said the zoo was committed to continue its breeding programme, especially of endangered species, at its premises.

He said the zoo has received a male lechwe, a type of antelope from Zoo Negara, on July 21 for its breeding programme. “We have three female lechwe obtained from Melaka Zoo on Dec 28,2012 and March 11 this year, ” he said. — By IVAN LOH
