The Bureau of Customs has padlocked six warehouses in Metro Manila containing agricultural products following a series of inspections. ManilaBulletin
The operations were led by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Manila International Container Port , Enforcement and Security Service-MICP , and ESS-Quick Reaction Team discovered P150 million worth of agricultural products, including frozen meat and fresh fruits.
Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Group Juvymax Uy expressed gratitude to Rubio for his swift issuance of the Letters of Authority , which allowed them to act immediately on the derogatory information they received. The inventory of the goods will be conducted by the assigned customs examiner and witnessed by agents from the CIIS and ESS-QRT. The owners of the goods will be required to present importation documents or proof of payment.
Rubio and Uy plan to personally visit the facilities where the suspected smuggled products were found.

BI nabs foreigner with alleged fake travel papersBureau of Immigration (BI) officers have arrested a Senegalese in possession of fake passport and border arrival stamp. BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the 37-year-old alien was apprehended when he showed up early this month at the the immigration office to extend his tourist visa. The BI chief said the bureau's forensic documents laboratory confirmed that his travel papers were counterfeit. 'Foreign nationals using fake travel papers can easily be caught as our personnel are experts in detecting such fraud,' Tansingco said.
