The scammer, posing as a border patrol agent, may try to tell you that “a box of drugs and money being shipped in your name” was intercepted.

"Individuals across the country continue to receive unsolicited calls from scammers posing as U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers or U.S. Border Patrol agents," a public affairs specialist with the CBP said. "Scammers attempt to cloak themselves in legitimacy by providing names and numbers of actual CBP employees and urging their potential victims to search the officer/agent on the internet," the agency warned.
