KOTA KINABALU: Despite the government relaxing the rules to allow more businesses to operate during the ongoing conditional movement control order (MCO), business owners claim customers have not returned.
As Covid-19 cases in the city and surrounding areas continue to increase, the public are hesitant to go shopping.
“Most mall visitors will only go for essential goods and they are being careful with money as they are afraid the conditional MCO will be extended, ” said the mother of four. Last week, the Sabah government announced the new relaxed ruling starting Oct 15 allowing almost all activities related to the economic, industrial and business sectors to be reopened, based on the National Security Council’s standard operating procedure updated on Oct 14.
