McGill-Toolen quarterback Andrew Murchison earned 75 percent of the 2,079 ballots cast in the poll – a total of 1,556 votes – for his efforts last week. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound senior led his team to a 41-14 win over Class 6A, Region 1 foe Baldwin County. Murchison passed for 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Yellow Jackets clinched the fourth seed for the state playoffs.McGill will travel to Hoover to play unbeaten No.

Baker junior running back Speedy Wheeler was third in the poll at 8 percent. The 5-8, 160-pounder ran for 117 yards on 24 carries and the Hornets’ lone touchdown in a 10-9 win on the road over previously undefeated Vigor.
