After talking with witnesses, investigators found 57-year-old Roy Sampson in the former motel's parking lot, police said.
Fires were set in two vacant rooms of the former Diamond Carlisle Motel on Thursday, leading to a Carlisle man being charged with arson, according to police.
Middlesex Township police officers were dispatched to the motel, for a report that someone was starting a fire inside. When they arrived, they found two of the empty rooms were actively on fire. Police did not say how much damage the fire in the rooms caused, or if the fire spread past the initial rooms.
After speaking with witnesses, police located 57-year-old Roy Sampson walking through the parking lot of the motel. Sampson was arrested on felony counts of arson, risking catastrophe, criminal mischief-damaging property and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 15.
