Alaska Native people representing tribes from across the state descended upon the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage Monday to share culture and stories, and to reconnect.
Trisha Jimmie is a friend of Gregory’s and a fellow vendor. She grew up in Northway and is now living in Fairbanks. “I like doing vibrant, colorful pieces, only because they pop and in nature there is a lot of beautiful, vibrant stuff, and that’s where I get my inspiration.”While Jimmie looks to nature in the present, Gregory pulls inspiration from the stories of his forefathers.
