Aravindan Balakrishnan set up his own cult where he kept women imprisoned in his house in London for 30 years and has now died aged 81 in prison
A Maoist cult leader who imprisoned women for 30 years in his south London house has died in prison aged 81.The cult leader from Enfield referred to himself as Comrade Bala and was jailed in 2016 for 23 years after his cult, which he had been running since the 1970s, was exposed.
