Cucumbers shipped to 14 states in May are being recalled over possible salmonella contamination after a product sample tested positive for the bacteria. Florida-based Fresh Start Produce Sales Inc. said in a notice posted by the Food and Drug Administration that it's recalling cucumbers shipped from May 17 through May 21 after the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture informed the company that salmonella bacteria was found after testing a product sample.

5 to 2 inches in diameter, and 5 to 9 inches long. Fresh Start Produce Sales said it has notified customers who bought the recalled product directly from the company and requested that they remove it from being sold. The company said the recalled cucumbers are 'unlikely in the marketplace,' but anyone who purchased one should throw it out or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
