A CTA worker was shot and seriously wounded outside the Howard Red Line station Wednesday night in the Rogers Park neighborhood.
A CTA worker was shot and seriously wounded outside the Howard Station bus depot Tuesday night in the Rogers Park neighborhood.The 51-year-old was waiting to start his shift around 9 p.m. when a white SUV pulled up and someone inside fired multiple shots near the station at 7519 N. Paulina St., according to police and Ald. Maria Hadden .The victim was shot once in the chest and was taken by paramedics to St. Francis Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.
"Our prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery go to he, his family, and our CTA workers," Hadden said in a statement. "No one should fear getting shot while on their job. No one should fear getting shot while on their way to and from work, on their way to school, or in their home."Hadden said there will be an increased police presence in the area during the investigation.No one has been arrested. Area Three detectives are investigating.
