This will be CSU’s 11th appearance in the NIT and first since 2021

Colorado State head coach Ali Farokhmanesh watches his team against Boise State on March 7 at Moby Arena in Fort Collins. Sunday night, the Rams received and accepted a bid to play in the NIT and will host a first-round game against Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday at Moby Arena.

Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. “I am excited for our guys and our program to be able to continue to play this season,” CSU head coach Ali Farokhmanesh said in a news release. “We have had a great journey throughout the year of both highs and lows, and the guys have earned this opportunity. We are looking forward to continuing to compete against top teams in the nation and raise our program’s brand.” CSU lost to San Diego State in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference tournament Thursday, ending its bid for a second straight tournament title and the NCAA Tournament bid that goes along with it. Utah State ended up winning the league tournament and earning the conference’s only bid into the 68-team field. CSU remained hopeful that its season wasn’t over yet and earned one of the conference’s five bids to the NIT. UNLV, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming all made the NIT as well. The Rams are the No. 3 seed in the New Mexico Region and take a 21-12 record into Wednesday’s late-night contest with Saint Joseph’s. The Hawks lost in the Atlantic 10 semifinals to Virginia Commonwealth. This will be CSU’s 11th appearance in the NIT and first since 2021 when the Rams finished in fourth place.
