Erick Nicoletti, 51, was charged with sexual battery by restraint and false imprisonment, related to an incident on Aug. 25 on CSU East Bay campus.
HAYWARD — A Cal State East Bay fitness trainer has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a student inside a locked office on campus last August, court records show.
Nicoletti pleaded not guilty at a September arraignment hearing and is out of custody on $60,000 bail, court records show. His next court date has been set for Oct. 28. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the allegations. Police allege that the victim — a woman referred to only as Jane Doe in court filings — visited Nicoletti on Aug. 25 for help with muscle soreness in her arm. Instead, the woman told police Nicoletti began groping her buttocks and her private parts while complimenting her body. The woman told investigators he then forcibly kissed her, and that she was “in shock” and scared to fight back.
Before the alleged sexual assault, Nicoletti allegedly locked the door to the office and told the woman not to worry about people disturbing them. She told police that’s when she started getting frightened.
