It was as straightforward as it gets for Philippe Clement and his team who picked up another win on the road.
Rangers cruised to a 2-0 win over Livingston as Cyriel Dessers and James Tavernier kept the pressure on Celtic at the top - while teenager Ross McCausland impressed on a dazzling first start.
Yet any relief David Martindale was feeling didn't last long. Just as it felt like it was going to be one of those days for Rangers, they finally found the breakthrough and it was Dessers, who had been a handful with his runs in behind. He pounced on Tom Lawrence's brilliant through ball, picked his moment and finished well past George, Sean Kelly's valiant attempt at a last-ditch block unable to stop it crossing the line.
The present and the future A few eyebrows were raised at a heavily rotated Rangers side but the huge travelling support were rubbing their hands over two big bits of exciting team news. Academy graduate Ross McCausland was in for his first ever start, while Tom Lawrence was in the XI too for the first time since September, having returned from injury from the bench during the week.
Almondvale woes Livingston hadn't beaten Rangers since 2018 and few expected them to break that streak against Clement's resurgent troops this time. But the manner with which they went down raised yet another alarm bell in a season that is only going from bad to worse.
