Gardner began directing traffic and parishioners through the crowded grocery store parking lot and down the street.
“It’s just awful. There’s nothing to say,” said a parishioner of the church, who said her friends were in the building during the shooting. “The Founding Fathers assumed everyone would be sane. Three people were injured, two fatally shot, Thursday evening at a small gathering at the church. The third victim is being treated at UAB Hospital.
