LAYTON — A crossing guard died Tuesday morning after being hit by a car near Vae View Elementary School , police say. Responding officers were working the scene by the intersection of 1600 North and Main, Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman told KSL.com. Lyman said he believes the accident happened around 8:30 a.m. The male crossing guard died at the scene of the crash, but no other identifying details have been released.
