A saltwater crocodile has been spotted near the waters of Juanico Village Extension in Malapatan, Sarangani Province. The DENR-12 has advised coastal residents to remain vigilant and avoid encounters with the large reptile.
GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 12 has advised coastal residents within the Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape to remain vigilant following the sighting of a saltwater crocodile near the waters of Juanico Village Extension , Barangay Lun Padidu , Malapatan, Sarangani Province..Shalimar A.
“Identifying the crocodile's presence is important, given their highly territorial nature and potential threat to human safety,” the official added.Cirilo A. Lagnason Jr., SBPS Protected Area Superintendent , stated that they are coordinating with various experts to decide the appropriate actions regarding the presence of the crocodile in the protected waters.
