An investigation by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ office resulted in Trump and 18 others being charged in a sweeping racketeering indictment over their efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia.Trump has appealed aspects of the case every step of the way, which pushed any chance of a trial past the November election.
“They’re on fire. They are doing a great job,” Trump said during an Aug. 3 speech in Atlanta. “Three members all pit bulls fighting for transparency, honesty and victory.”The biggest bugaboo is a new rule that states the county boards of election can now launch a “reasonable inquiry” to ensure the voting results are complete and accurate before they’re certified. Results have to be certified on the local level to become official.
Another new rule requires video surveillance after polls close in locations with a ballot drop box, in response to conspiracies that drop boxes are used to vote multiple times. “It really didn’t seem like it was even possible,” Duncan said. “But now, watching them just kind of ankle bite at worthless issues just to create doubt amongst the election – it’s really scary to think about what could eventually happen.”Republican Gov. When asked to clarify what “go into” these battleground state cities meant, a campaign aide said he was referring to poll watchers and volunteers who should ensure a secure election.
