John Krasinski as Lee looking worried, Lupita Nyong'o as Sam shouting and Emily Blunt as Evelyn looking scared in the Quiet Place franchise

While the prequel may not have lived up to its predecessors' box office heights, the Quiet Place franchise is dominating streaming charts following Day One's debut on Paramount+. Originally created by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods and primarily led by John Krasinski as writer/director, the sci-fi horror franchise is largely set on the American Northeast coast as the world is invaded by sound-hunting aliens, leaving survivors to have to remain as quiet as possible.

With three movies released thus far, the Quiet Place franchise is considered one of the best of the horror genre in the past decade, with every installment garnering critical acclaim. Even with nearly a month gone since the prequel hit the streaming platform, the Quiet Place franchise is still dominating the streaming charts on Paramount+. At the time of writing, Day One has been the No. 1 movie on the streamer for two days straight, while the Krasinski-helmed first installment climbed from the No. 6 spot on Friday, September 20 to the No. 3 spot, while Part II also moved up from the No. 8 to the No. 6 spot. The latter installments are currently only bested by fellow Krasinski directorial effort, IF, at No. 2, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie at No. 4 and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts at No. 5. What A Quiet Place's Streaming Dominance Means The Arrival Of The Horror Season Is A Major Factor Close Given the movies have been one of the most-talked about in the horror genre since the first installment in 2018, it may not come as much of a surprise that the Quiet Place franchise is at the top of Paramount+'s charts. Even while Michael Sarnoski's Day One may not have reached the critical and commercial heights of the first two movies, it was still a hit for Paramount, nearly quadrupling its budget in theaters and only falling a few points shy of Part II's Rotten Tomatoes score. See how the Quiet Place movies compare on Rotten Tomatoes and at the box office below: Beyond just its general popularity, the impending arrival of the Halloween season is likely a key factor for the Quiet Place franchise's Paramount+ dominance. The first two months of fall are frequently referred to as"spooky season" by audiences, with viewers looking for horror-tinged content to celebrate the October holiday. While Paramount+ has an array of other horror content, including the Scream franchise and 2022's viral hit, Smile, the recent debut of Day One likely also prompted both revisits and first-time watches of the first two Quiet Place movies. Our Take On The Quiet Place Franchise's Streaming Run The Future Looks Bright For The Horror Series Regardless of why the movies are taking up so much of Paramount+'s Top 10, the fact that the Quiet Place franchise is ranking so high is a promising sign for the series' future. As of now, the only confirmed project is A Quiet Place Part III, which Krasinski is expected to return to direct and is reported to be the final mainline sequel for the series. The movie was previously set for a 2025 release date, though was announced a few months before Day One's release that it had been pulled from Paramount's calendar. Related A Quiet Place Complete Timeline Explained As the franchise continues to expand, A Quiet Place's timeline becomes more explored. We break down the movie's complete, chronological timeline. Beyond Part III, the future of the Quiet Place franchise remains unclear, though there are certainly a range of options to go down. Sarnoski previously expressed his own interest in returning for a sequel, including the possibility of further exploring the island of survivors seen in Part II following their escape in A Quiet Place: Day One's ending. With other factions like the group of bandits introduced in the 2020 sequel, there's certainly plenty of room for the franchise to grow beyond the Abbott family after Part III.A Quiet Place A Quiet Place is a film franchise that centers on a post-apocalyptic Earth following an alien invasion by ruthless creatures that are blind but have unparalleled hearing.
