Returning star Joe Mantegna has shared a new photo of himself visiting the upcoming CriminalMinds reboot set.🙌

The set for the Criminal Minds reboot is being rebuilt, as revealed in a new image. Running for 15 years on CBS, the police procedural follows the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit as they use profiling to catch serial killers all over the country. While the two Criminal Minds spinoffs, Beyond Borders and Suspect Behavior, never gained the praise of the original series, their predecessor remained popular until it wrapped up in 2020.

As the BAU transitions from network TV to streaming, the Criminal Minds reboot is also set to have a different format than its original run. Instead of devoting an episode to a single case, each case will instead will be stretched out to a season. For a while, there were conflicting reports as to whether or not the Criminal Minds reboot was still going ahead. Recently, however, Emily Prentiss actress Paget Brewster confirmed that the Criminal Minds revival is still very much in development.

Just doing a little inspection today for an upcoming project. #criminalminds pic.twitter.com/fz9nrigXImWhen Brewster made her initial comments about the Criminal Minds reboot, the licensing agreement between ABC and CBS was still in process, so an official confirmation about the project had not yet arrived. However, it certainly appeared as if Paramount+ was actively working on the BAU's return to the small screen.

Looking at the image, it seems that's it's the BAU office being rebuilt. With a different format and release schedule in this reboot, perhaps the Criminal Minds team will spend more time in their BAU headquarters profiling their case for the season, or may even mostly be on the road. In any case, it makes sense that the BAU office is the first set to be built for Paramount's Criminal Minds reboot.
