The inn was one of Edinburgh's best-loved roadside spots for over 60 years
Creepy footage has shown the inside of an abandoned Scots roadhouse before it vanished forever. The Fairmile Inn was one of Edinburgh's best-loved roadside spots for over 60 years, reports Edinburgh Live.
The building was similar in style to the Maybury Casino at the Gyle and Whitehouse at Craigmillar and an outdoor clothing centre, Craigdon Mountain Sports, now occupies the site. The spooky video showed their followers that it really was beyond saving by that point. It takes viewers on a tour of the derelict building, which had seen better days. Debris can be seen to be strewn around the main lounge and bar area. Ceiling tiles could be seen hanging down and wall fixtures smashed to bits.
Stoneware beer jugs were left lying around the bar alongside vintage pots and pans and the bar soda stream, caked in dust, sits in its holder never to be used again. Meanwhile, upstairs, the urban explorers encounter abandoned toys, including model boats, diecast model cars, and a rather scary-looking clown doll.
