A vile residential child care worker has been struck off by the social services regulator after he “placed a child at a serious risk of emotional and psychological harm”.
Following his conviction, the Scottish Social Services Council has removed Ferguson from the profession’s register, stating his “behaviour directly impacted on the wellbeing of a child”. Ferguson pleaded not guilty to a separate charge which stated on “various occasions on October 22, 2020” at a children’s home in Glasgow, and during a car journey while employed as a resident worker there, he did “communicate indecently” with a 16-year-old resident and did “repeatedly make verbal sexual remarks to her and remove her underwear from a chest of drawers”.The watchdog’s report states Ferguson’s behaviour “directly impacted on the wellbeing of a child”.
“We have no evidence of any insight or remorse for your behaviour or recognition of the consequences your behaviour had on the child.”
