The public will soon be able to pay for their public transportation ride using credit and debit cards. This is
due to a new directive from the Ministry of Transportation which has asked all public transport operators to implement an open payment system.
KTM Komuter’s ticket machine in Sungai Buloh station, as captured on 31 January 2023. If you take a closer look, you should notice an area on the machine that has been reserved for credit card payments which seemed to indicate that cashless payments may have been in KTMB’s mind for quite some time.
